The Foundation of Turkish Insurance
Institute has been established on the 29th May, 1970
and funded by "The Association of Turkish Insurance
and Reinsurance Companies" and the "Millî
Reasürans T.A.Ş" with equal shares.
Its objectives are:
- to implement activities in order
to improve and spread the idea and knowledge of
insurance,
- to help for the development of
insurance as a profession,
- to educate personnel for the insurance
sector,
- to assess and examine economical,
legal and technical subjects and matters of insurance,
- to improve the contribution of
insurance industry into the socio-economical development
of the country.
In achieving these objectives, the
Institute carries out the following activities:
- Training and education (by way
of lectures, seminars, conferences, symposiums,
panels, congresses etc.);
- Acceptance of trainees from inside
and outside of the country;
- Research and investigation;
- Supporting scientific projects
and studies related to Turkey's insurance based
economic and social needs;
- Enhancement of insurance by way
of publications, periodicals, reviews, magazines,
etc.;
- Enlarging the content of its library
as much as possible with the books and documents
related to all aspects of insurance such as legislations,
court decisions, publications and offering the same
for the disposal and utilisation of interested parties;
- Getting in touch with the other
similar foundations and associations and carrying
out studies also abroad;
- Providing scholarships, awards
and training programs to the successful students
of the Institute, when available;
- Arranging contests with awards
in all fields of insurance and reinsurance, when
available.
Since 34 years carrying out the above
mentioned activities successfully in line with its objectives,
the Foundation of Turkish Insurance Institute has educated
2360 technical staff for the insurance industry which
consists almost 20% of the personnel working in this
sector.
