23rd Milli
Re International Insurance Tennis Tournament
(29-30-31 May 2009)
This year, the 23rd round of the
traditional "International Insurance Tennis
Tournament", organized by Milli Re, was held
in Miltaş- Suadiye Sports Complex. 64 competitors
from 39 companies, 16 of which were foreign companies,
participated in the Tournament which lasted for
three days.
After the
semifinals and finals of the Tournament, which were
watched by an audience of more than 200 foreign
and local people, couples who were awarded were
as follows:
1. Okan Utkueri (Eureko Sigorta)
- Aziz Üstünel (MedNet)
2. Musa Ülken (Anadolu Sigorta) - Günter Rütz (Devk)
3. Işıl Çayırlı (Mercer Brokerlik) - Gavin Hamilton
(Marsh Brokerlik)
4. Ylmaz Anakoç (Doğan Brokerlik) - Turgut Polat
(ex Yapı Kredi Sigorta)
And after the "Surprise"
tournament of the third day, following couples were
entitled to win prizes:
1. Jo Easton (Willis) - Mathias
Warlich (Munich Re)
2. Sam Easton (Willis) - Ömer Aktaş (Ankara Sigorta)
At the end of the "Surprise
Tournament", which was played among 8 teams,
last year's youngest couple of Jo Easton aged 12
and Sam Easton aged 15, played against each other
this year. After a hotly-contested match, the couple
of Jo Easton and Mathias Warlich were the winners
and Sam Easton & Ömer Aktaş were the runners-up
of the Tournament.
As part of the Tournament;
a cocktail prolonge was hosted by Milli Re on Friday
night, a cocktail-dinner was organized by Willis
on Saturday night at Hilton Hotel, and a closing
cocktail was held on Sunday after the award ceremony.
